Freeride & Winter

What freeride routes are there around the Titlis?

Engelberg is one of the best freeride areas in the Alps. Around Titlis and Brunni there are descents for all levels — from accessible options directly from the gondola to challenging runs in high-alpine terrain. The choice always depends on the current conditions and your ability.

Are beginners welcome in freeriding?

Yes. Many freeride tours and ski days can be adapted to your individual level. It is important that you are able to ski safely and independently on the piste — freeride terrain is not the place for your first turns.

When does the ski touring season start in Engelberg?

The season usually begins in late November or early December, depending on snow conditions, and often lasts until April or May. High-alpine ski tours are sometimes possible into early summer.

What is the Urner Haute Route?

The Uri Haute Route is a multi-day high-altitude ski tour through the Uri Alps and is considered one of the most impressive ski tours in Central Switzerland — demanding, wild and far off the beaten tourist track. It is a strong alternative to the classic Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt.
