Jungfrau Glacier Days

May 6–9, 2027 · Four days of skiing and splitboarding in the High Mountains.

01 · SKI HIKES IN MAY

Good lines for the finish

Up even further. And with time for beautiful descents.

When spring arrives below, we head to the Jungfraujoch area on skis and splitboards. Julian Fürsinger and I will take you from the Jungfraujoch between vast glaciers and high peaks to the Finsteraarhorn basin.

What appeals to me about these days: We choose our tours based on the snow conditions. A certain peak isn’t above a good descent. Two nights in the same hut give us the flexibility we need – and a day with a lighter backpack.

Early start

From the Jungfraujoch to the Finsteraarhorn basin.

02 · THE PLANNED ROUTE

Four days in the high mountains

Day 1 · Jungfraujoch

Meeting point in Interlaken or Grindelwald, then by train to the Jungfraujoch. A first ascent towards Trugberg opens the descent to the Konkordiaplatz. Through the mountain huts we reach the Konkordiahütte.

Day 2 · Green Horned Gap

The crossing over the Grünhornlücke brings us to the Finsteraarhorn basin. Here we find a suitable descent route and spend two nights in the Finsteraarhorn hut.

Day 3 · Tour according to the conditions

The overnight luggage stays in the hut. Depending on the snow and the group, Agassizhorn, Grosses Wannenhorn or Kleines Fiescherhorn are some of the options.

Day 4 · Towards Goms

Earlier start from the Fiescher Glacier and ascent towards Galmihorn. If the conditions are right, long downhill runs into Goms round off the tour. With public transport, you can return to Interlaken or head straight home.

This route is our plan. Weather, avalanche conditions, glaciers, and the group decide on the actual routes and possible departures.

03 · EXPERIENCE & CONDITION

Does the tour suit you?

You are on tour at home and you stay calm even in challenging terrain.

  • You regularly go on ski or splitboard tours.
  • You can drive well off the piste, up to very good levels, even in changing snow conditions.
  • You are familiar with steep slopes of up to 40°.
  • You are sure to master turns on steep and hard surfaces.
  • Climbs of up to 1,200 meters in altitude with 300–400 meters per hour are quite feasible for you.
  • You are used to walking with a ladder.

In the frozen high mountains, reserves are needed – during the ascent, during transitions on foot and on the descent. The days are intended for experienced hiking enthusiasts.

Not sure if it will fit? In your request, please describe your previous tours and your experience in steep terrain. This way, we can organize it together.

Frequently asked questions

Can I participate with the splitboard?

Yes. The Jungfrau Glacier Days are dedicated to skiing and splitboarding. Safe edge turns, good downhill technique, and experience with ski poles are important – even in hard snow and on challenging slopes.

Is the Jungfraujoch cable car included in the price?

No. CHF 850.– covers the mountain guides and their expenses. You pay for your own camping overnight stays, the return journey and all train tickets in addition. This also applies to the Jungfraujoch cable car.

Is it about as many as possible of the four-thousand-meter peaks?

Our focus is on suitable snow conditions and beautiful runs. We choose which peaks and passes to climb based on the weather, avalanche and glacier conditions, and the skill level of the group.

How do I get back in the end?

It is planned to depart for Goms. From there, you can travel by public transport to Interlaken or directly home. Whether this option is possible depends on the conditions.

Where do I log in?
